Cassiterite is a primary of tin. It’s a tin oxide, and its name Cassiterite came from the Greek word ‘kassiteros’, which means tin. It’s commonly known as the Tin Stone as well. It’s abundant in its rough mineral form, but the transparent gemstone quality material is quite rare. Because of its rarity, Cassiterite is known as a collector’s stone.
